I love the Mail app on my iPod Touch which is set up for my GMail account. However, when reading a new mail in my inbox, I’m very prone to inadvertently delete it. This arises from the inconvenient juxtaposition of the trash icon and the home button on the iPod Touch. So, while intending to hit the home button, my finger has occasionally strayed onto the trash icon, thus deleting the email.

Problem is it’s not too easy, in my experience at least, to find the mistakenly deleted mail. However, this post explains in some detail how to recover it although a computer may be required.

Another option is to go to Settings>>Mail, Contacts, Calendar and make sure Ask Before Deleting, which is OFF by default is turned ON
